Karel Kobosil

• Karel Kobosil – very distinctive and reputable character of Czech design. In 1991, he founded the Design Centre of the Czech Republic and worked as its director for 17 years.

• The scope of design works of Karel Kobosil is enormous. He not only devoted himself to product design, but he also organized more than 50 exhibitions dedicated to design. He himself participated in group exhibitions of Czech design in Paris, Vienna, Helsinki, Brussels, Warsaw, Moscow or Shanghai. He organized his author’s exhi­bitions in Brno, Prague, Berlin and Munich.

• He was awarded the Excellent Product and Excellent Design awards for his work several times. The works of Karel Kobosil are represented in the collections of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, the National Gallery in Prague, the Moravian Gallery in Brno, the Moravian museum in Brno and also in private collections.
